The Franklin Bulls have signed Tall Black Big Man, Tyrell Harrison. The Brisbane Bullets centre will command the paint for the Bulls in his first SalsNBL hit-out since playing 18 games with the Nelson Giants in 2019.
Since then, Harrison has been a featured player with Brisbane Bullets and has a great relationship with GM of Basketball Mika Vukona.
"Tyrell is a one of those rare young players that has a wealth of experience at a high level but still at a young age. He has shown in the ANBL over the last 4 years what he is capable of and to have him come home to continue his development under Coach Daniel is exciting.
And his Head Coach understands what Harrison can add,
"Every team that wants to impose its will on the defensive end of the floor needs an anchor; someone who controls the paint, and can erase mistakes at the rim. Tyrell will be that presence for us. A vocal enforcer who plays with tremendous energy and activity."
"Kiwi. Tall Black. ANBL main-stay. League leader in effective field goal percentage, and among the league leaders in net rating. Tyrell Harrison is on verge of breaking through, and establishing himself among the premier big men in this region of the world. It’s incredibly exciting to have him joining us in Franklin as he prepares for this crucial phase of his career. Adds Bulls Head Coach Daniel Sokolovsky.
Harrison has spent the past week with the Tall Black Squad, who have defeated Saudi Arabia to finish top of their World Cup Qualifying pool.
"He’ll be joining Franklin after this FIBA window. Franklin will be getting a tough gritty player that has deft touch around the basket and a skillset that rare in many players let a a 7footer. We’re excited to have him become part of our family and believe he’ll be a fan favourite." Adds GM of Basketball Mika Vukona.
The Bulls kick off their campaign on April 6th against the Hawkes Bay Hawks. Memberships available from the 1st of March.
