Local veteran welcomed to Franklin

Marcel Jones is joining the Franklin Bulls for his twelfth season in Sal's NBL.

Jones is recognised for his height, length, rebounding, and scoring skills throughout his career. Adding such an experienced player to this young team is invaluable. His leadership will be crucial at the beginning of the season while we are missing key players.

During his last Sal's NBL in 2023 with the Manawatu Jets, Jones averaged 20 minutes, 5.8 rebound and 43% from field.

"Marcel is an experienced player, who assisted us during the Pre-Season and will continue to support us at the start of the season. His shooting skills and rebounding ability will be beneficial. I'm grateful he joined practice immediately to lend a hand." Says Head Coach, Sebastian Gleim.

More recently in 2024, Jones played Mayrouba in Lebanese Basketball League where he averaged 39 minutes, 19 points and 10 rebounds per game.
