Franklin Bulls Announce Staff for 2025

As we prepare for another exciting season, we are thrilled to announce the incredible team leading the Franklin Bulls into 2025. Each member brings unparalleled passion, dedication, and expertise to the table. Let’s meet our staff and celebrate their contributions to the Franklin Bulls and basketball in our community.

Jamie Reddish - General Manager

The driving force behind Franklin Basketball, Jamie founded the grassroots organisation Franklin Basketball 15 years ago and co-founded the Franklin Bulls five years ago with Scott Kelso.

With a vision to create a professional pathway for regional players, Jamie has worn many hats, including GM, Assistant Coach in 2020, and Head Coach in 2021.

Co-founder Scott Kelso says "Jamie started this journey of growing basketball in Franklin 15 years ago… 6 years ago I had the pleasure of joining him on the journey and starting the Bulls franchise. His experience, relationships and knowledge of basketball make him perfect to lead the Bulls into our 5th regular NBL season. Congrats Jamie and thanks for leading us..."

After stepping back to focus on grassroots development, Jamie returns as GM to continue shaping the Bulls’ legacy.

Amanda Kelso - Operations Manager

A cornerstone of the Franklin Bulls since the inaugural season in 2020, Amanda has been the go-to expert for event planning, travel and team logistics. From her start in administration to managing operations, Amanda’s role will be pivotal both in the office and court side during home and away games.

"Having Amanda in the Operation’s Manager role is a key part to our success this season. Having worked with the Bulls for the past 5 seasons she is the perfect person to have run the team. With her experience and some fresh ideas we are excited to see how we can improve what the Bulls can deliver on and off the court in 2025." says General Manager, Jamie.

Sebastian Gleim - Head Coach

Back for his second year with the Bulls, Coach Gleim brings a wealth of experience, including his role as Assistant Coach of Germany’s FIBA World Cup Gold Medal-winning team. His expertise and leadership promise to propel the Bulls to new heights in 2025.

GM Jamies is excited to be working with Coach Gleim in 2025. "Bringing coach Sebastian back for a 2nd year was a no brainer.

His experience is second to none in our league and we soak up what we can learn from him both on and off the court. Players love the intensity he brings and the fans can feel it too. Having a successful year in 2024 with limited time to prep, we are excited to see how this year shapes up."

Joe Reddish - Lead Assistant Coach

Joe continues his journey with the Bulls, marking his fifth year as a coach after starting as a player in 2020. Now in his third year as Lead Assistant Coach, Joe is also the Director of Basketball for the Franklin Basketball Association, where he fosters grassroots development and strengthens pathways for players.

Coach Gleim is excited to have Joe back on board for 2025, saying "Joe is very ambitious and he wants to get better every day. He looks always into opportunities, including his role as a development coach with the Breakers, and we are very happy that he will continue as an assistant coach and support his way to get better in his way as a coach."

Samara Funnell - Assistant Coach

Joining us for her fourth year, Samara is a trailblazer, becoming the first female to coach during a Sky Sport Rapid League game in 2024. As the Clubs & Community Manager for Franklin Basketball, she inspires young wahine and brings a community-first approach to her coaching.

"Samara will be more involved in player development, leading sessions, and serving as the second assistant coach for the Bulls. Last year, she showcased her potential by winning a Rapid League game as head coach and stepping up as lead assistant coach during our game in Southland. We’re thrilled to have her continue her journey with the Bulls, bringing her leadership and coaching strengths to the team." says Coach Gleim.

Sarah Manukia - Team Physio

Newlywed and a steadfast force behind the Bulls’ success, Sarah returns for her sixth season. With an impeccable track record of keeping players game-ready, Sarah balances motherhood and excellence in physiotherapy. Supported by the team at Pukekohe Physiotherapy, she ensures our athletes are in peak condition every season.

Health is #1 to Coach Gleim and having Sarah back for 2025 was key for the teams success. "Sarah is an exceptional physiotherapist, truly standing out with her holistic approach to health and treatment. Her work last year was instrumental in keeping the team and individual players healthy, which is always our top priority.

Beyond her expertise, she went above and beyond—traveling with the team, driving the bus, and stepping in wherever needed. Alongside her daughter Olivia, Sarah embodied the team-first mentality and contributed immensely to our success. We’re thrilled she’ll continue supporting the Bulls in 2025, and everyone can be grateful to have her on board."

Logan Botica - Strength & Conditioning Coach

In his fourth season with the Bulls, Logan is recognized as one of New Zealand’s premier basketball S&C coaches. His work extends beyond the Bulls, contributing to the Northern Kahu, Basketball New Zealand, and the National Team program. Logan’s commitment to player development remains unmatched.

"Logan has a unique ability to prepare players, make them stronger, and focus on what truly matters. When discussing recruitment, players consistently ask if Logan remains with the Bulls—a testament to his impact. We’re thrilled to have him back, as his work is key to enhancing player health and maintaining our top priority: keeping the team strong and healthy." says Coach Gleim

Cliff Thompson - Team Chaplain

Returning for his sixth season, Chaplain Cliff provides unwavering spiritual and emotional support to our team. In addition to his work with the Bulls, Cliff serves the OneNZ Warriors, NZ Rugby League, and other NRL franchises, enriching the lives of athletes across the country.

"Cliff was with us in the beginning. He captured our vision and his support, leadership has been one of the reasons the club continues to grow. He's always there for us and our players. As chaplain, Cliff is essential to the Bulls success. He's just part of us. Thanks Cliff for continuing this journey." Says Co-founder, Scott Kelso
