Rising star and former New Zealand U18 trialist, Zion Anderson has signed with the Franklin Bulls for Sal's NBL 2025. The Tauranga based player has relocated to Franklin to take the next step in his journey towards next level basketball and has signed as an amateur for the season.
From the age of 9, Zion went to France and played basketball for So Carcassonne Basket and developed his game there until the age of 15.
From there, Anderson returned to NZ and attended Rosmini College from 2020-2023 where he was part of the Premiere Boys Team, leading the team to a Top 10 spot, finishing as their leading point scorer, averaging 21.5 points per game. He also competes for his local Association, Harbour Basketball and helped to make Top 5 appearances through his age group appearances.
In 2024, Zion was part of the Tauranga Whai squad as a Development player.
"Zion is a great example of how perseverance can lead to a spot on our Bulls squad. He immediately stood out during the trial and reinforced that impression with strong workout sessions, showcasing his hardworking mentality. We are very happy that he found the way to us and is ready to put in the work during preseason." Says Head Coach, Sebastian Gleim.
