The Franklin Bulls would like to welcome Dru-Leo Leusogi-Ape to the team for the 2024 SalsNBL season.
Leusogi-Ape joined the club in 2020 as a youngster straight out of high school. His recruitment came due to the 2020 Covid pandemic which saw the Bulls first season move into a “bubble” league format called the Showdown. Dru-Leo helped the team to a quarter final.
For the past two seasons Dru-Leo has been a starting level player with the Southland Sharks, but has decided a return to Auckland. His last season was cut short due to injury, but he’s eyeing a strong come back to the NBL court under coach Sebastian Gleim who is excited to have Dru’s athleticism and potential on the team.
“Dru is a powerful guard who plays with great energy. He has the ability to be a very good defender. He had some bad luck with his injury last season. We are very happy to welcome him back and support him to take his game to a new level.”
"Dru’s signing is another part of building a team that can do the job this year. The team that we have built will be exciting to watch. Dru-Leo is also coming home to play in front his family and we can’t wait to have him part of the squad" adds Bulls’ Co-Founder Jamie Reddish.
Dru himself is excited to return to the Bulls for the 2024 season, “this is a big year for me so I’m keen on getting to work!”
