One of the most exciting guards to play in the Sals NBL is back to help lead the Bulls and continue his mentoring under Bulls Head Coach Daniel Sokolovsky.
In 2022 Bezzant led the Bulls to the best record yet in spite missing games due to the Tall Blacks 3x3 campaigns. This included a Commonwealth Games appearance and a Silver medal at the 3x3 Asia Cup competition.
“I’ve been very fortunate to get a daily look at just how good Jayden Bezzant can be. It’s beyond exciting to have Jayden staying with the Bulls this season, and getting an opportunity to coach a Kiwi talent of this caliber. “
Head Coach Sokolovsky believes there’s more to see from Bezzant.
“I feel that he has been under appreciated in New Zealand basketball, and it’s going to be a rare treat to unleash a fully fit, extremely motivated, and more mature version of Jayden Bezzant on the SalsNBL”
“He has spent these past months quietly honing his craft, learning how to play the right way, with the proper intensity and intelligence, and he is perfectly primed to play the best basketball of his life. Jayden will be a key piece to establishing Franklin as a place that wins, and wins the right way. Adds Sokolovsky.
GM of Basketball Mika Vukona says Jayden has all the tools and ability to become one of New Zealand’s premier point guards.
“He’s been labouring hard and working on his trade with the NZBreakers the whole ANBL
season and was one of our main targets to re-signing for this upcoming season. Dan wanted a player who has a high IQ understanding of that position but an x factor in their ability to get to the rim but also to find the open man. JB ticks all those boxes and more. Im excited for our organisation to watch him continue to grow and feel he’s an important cog in the core recruitment of young talented kiwis we have representing the Franklin Bulls this season."
Jayden Joins the team this month post the Breakers Grand Final series.
