BULLS PLAYER WELLBEING

ATHLETE WELLBEING IS A PRIORTY

All athletes, whatever age and stage of their joinery need support. Support from whanau, coaches, staff, mentors and chaplains. Communities are stronger when we have a good understanding of our mental wellness and how to approach tricky conversations. It all starts with good communication. 

The Franklin Bulls are proud to work alongside Sports Chaplaincy New Zealand to provide our players with support, resources and an acceptance that sometimes we all need to talk. Cliff Thompson has been our chaplain since our inception and is an essential member of our team and provides support to our players and staff. 

Cliff, along with other codes and organisations provide resources to support you with your wellness. These resources are used by professional athletes, including our Bulls,  around the globe and we want to thank the other kiwi codes who have invested in athlete wellbeing resources, that enable us to share this with our basketball athletes.

SELF-TESTING

These self-tests will help you figure out whether you’re showing any warning signs of depression or anxiety. Although they won’t give you a diagnosis, they will help point you in the right direction.

If you’re feeling down a lot of the time, start with the depression test, or if you’re feeling on edge and nervous often then try the anxiety test.
